How Condri started

Joe spent years trapped in the health anxiety cycle. Over 20 emergency room visits in a single year. Constant Googling. Constant dread. He tried therapy, read the books, knew intellectually what he was supposed to do — but couldn't make any of it stick when the anxiety was loud.

What eventually worked wasn't a single breakthrough. It was finding the right techniques — CBT, ERP, grounding exercises — and practicing them consistently, even when it felt pointless. Slowly, the cycle loosened. He got his life back.

But the experience left a question: why was it so hard to find structured, evidence-based self-help for health anxiety? The research exists. The approaches are well established. But there was no infrastructure — no app that makes daily practice easy when anxiety is loud.

George had been building mental health apps after studying at Imperial College London. When he and Joe connected, the problem was obvious and the solution was clear: build the thing they both wished had existed.

That's Condri. The app offers structured daily self-help practice: exercises informed by CBT, grounding, reflective tracking, and small repeatable steps that help you build capability over time.

Every tool in Condri is informed by research. CBT, ERP, and ACT are among the most studied approaches for health anxiety and OCD. We build on them because the evidence is strong, not because they're easy. No pseudoscience. No quick fixes.

Recovery Over Reassurance

Reassurance feels good until it wears off. Most health anxiety communities make things worse — symptom-posting, worst-case speculation, endless reassurance-seeking. We built something different: a space that supports recovery, not the loop.

We're not selling a breakthrough. The approaches with strong evidence already exist. The problem is access, structure, and continuity. Condri is the infrastructure that makes them easier to keep practicing.

Right now, health anxiety is often dismissed as a nuisance, a personal failing, or something people must endure alone. We believe it deserves to be recognised for what it is. A real and common experience that responds to well-studied skills, with proper tools and proper support around the people living with it.

We're not trying to eliminate anxiety or promise certainty. We're building something more honest — a future where people stop organising their lives around fear, stop chasing reassurance that never lasts, and learn to trust their bodies again.
