The app for health anxiety

Tools for when health anxiety about cancer takes over.

When the urge to Google, check or ask for reassurance feels impossible to ignore, Condri helps you pause and choose what happens next.

Condri will not tell you that every symptom is fine.

That would help for five minutes. Then the doubt finds a new way back in.

Health anxiety about cancer can be a repeating pattern. You notice a sensation. You picture the worst case, and you go looking for certainty. The relief lasts until the question comes back.

Condri works on the part you can practise: how you respond to the alarm. It helps you notice the reassurance move, then go back to your day with the doubt still there.

This is not about ignoring your health. Condri cannot assess symptoms, and a new or changing symptom belongs with a doctor. Speak to a qualified healthcare professional about anything you have not had looked at. See what the evidence says about treatment for the anxiety pattern itself.

Inside the app

The tools for the point where the loop wins.

Condri turns skills used in CBT, ERP and ACT into exercises you can run on a bad day.

Panic button

A guided exercise for the middle of a fear spike. It walks you through the sequence below when remembering it yourself is too much.

Daily Condri practice

Short structured lessons and exercises that build the skill of leaving a worry unanswered.

Members-only community

People who know what the checking costs. No symptom threads, no reassurance requests.

Use it in the moment

From the thought to a grounded next step.

Before you search, pause here.

You do not need to answer the thought right now. Condri teaches one short sequence you can use while the fear is loud. Four beats, so there is less to remember when the alarm is at its highest.

  1. Catch the trigger

Name what started the spiral, as plainly as you can. A sensation. A headline. A thought that arrived on its own. Naming it is not an invitation to investigate it.

  2. Name the urge

Ask what anxiety wants you to do next. Search, prod, ask someone to look again. The urge is a safety behaviour, and doing it automatically keeps you stuck in a loop.

  3. Respond differently

This is the pivot. The safety behaviour stays available and you do not take it. Not because you have decided you are safe, but because you are not feeding the loop this time.

  4. Nourish

Give the spiral a different ending. Make the tea, finish the task, go back to the person you were with. Try to end the moment in getting back to life instead of seeking answers.

Built with care

Self-help grounded in lived experience and research.

Condri was started by people who have lived with severe health anxiety, including our founder Joe Newton, who made over 20 ER visits in a single year and never got an answer that held.

The programme uses skills from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness. Clinicians who specialise in health anxiety and OCD review what goes into the app.

For more on where health anxiety overlaps with OCD, read Professor Lynne Drummond on the pattern the two share.

Condri is a self-help tool. It is not a diagnosis, a medical service, or a replacement for therapy.

Common questions

Can an app help with health anxiety about cancer?

It can help with the pattern, not with the question underneath it. Condri teaches the response: noticing the urge to check, and practising leaving it unanswered. It cannot tell you anything about your body.

Will Condri tell me whether my symptom is cancer?

No. Condri cannot assess symptoms, and it will not try. A new or changing symptom belongs with a doctor.

What tools are in the app?

A panic button for the middle of a spike, a daily practice of short lessons and exercises drawn from CBT, ERP and ACT, and a members-only community. Everything is included in one plan.

Can I use Condri alongside therapy?

Yes. Many members use it between sessions, and some bring what they notice in the app to their therapist. Condri is not a replacement for therapy or for medical care.

Is Condri a paid app?

Yes. It is one membership with everything included, and you can cancel any time. Current prices are on the pricing page.

Is the Condri health anxiety quiz a diagnosis?

No. The quiz is based on the Short Health Anxiety Inventory, a research questionnaire. It gives you a starting point for reflection, not a medical or mental health diagnosis.

Written by the Condri team. Last updated September 2026. Condri's approach is shaped by lived experience and published research, and clinicians review what goes into the app. Read more about how we build it, or see the experts involved.
