What this feels like

You might recognise some of this

Health anxiety doesn't mean you are being dramatic. It means an alarm system that won't switch off.

Composites of what people tell us, not quotes from individuals.

Health anxiety convinces careful people, not reckless ones. You have learned that checking makes the fear feel survivable, even though the relief never lasts. That is a pattern, not a personality. Patterns can change.

Why Condri exists
Joe Newton, co-founder of Condri

Joe Newton

Co-founder, Condri

Built by someone who has been in it

After weeks of stressing over a stomach ache, I couldn't stand not knowing anymore, so I pushed for a colonoscopy just to make the fear stop.

It went on for years, through growing up and into my career. Work suffered. Most nights I would lie awake convinced some small sensation was the start of something serious. The lowest point was that colonoscopy. It came back clear, the way the tests usually did.

What changed things wasn't another test. It was CBT and ERP, and learning to sit with the frightening thoughts instead of rushing to solve them.

Condri grew from that experience into an app I developed with my co-founder George. Building on the Condri Group Coaching Programme, the eight-week live programme was clinically designed and is led by Karolina Maria Martin, Consultant Psychologist and Group Analyst. Her clinical and group expertise shapes a carefully structured coaching experience.

Reassurance is not the problem you keep failing to solve. The reassurance cycle is the problem.

What changes

The goal is not to feel certain. It is to stop needing certainty to live your life.

Every session does the same three things.

01

See

What sets it off, the worst-case thought that follows, and the search for someone to tell you you're okay. Named out loud, with people who recognise it.

02

Practise

A different response, in the moment the urge to check, google, or call the doctor shows up. Rehearsed live, in the room, before you need it.

03

Live

Attention back on the day in front of you, instead of on scanning your body for the next threat.

You don't have to become fearless. You have to become less controlled by fear.

Who leads it

You don't have to work this out on your own

Karolina brings the clinical expertise. The group brings the lived experience. The programme gives you a structure to follow.

The path

Eight weeks, in order

Each week is one stage, and the stages build on each other. This is not another course to study. No long curriculum, no hours of homework, no textbook to finish. Each week there is one live session, one idea, and one thing to practise.

You don't have to believe any of it will work yet. The process only asks you to follow it, one week at a time, with the same group.

When I was mid-spiral, I didn't need more information. I needed one thing to do.Joe Newton

    Make It Yours

    From knowing to living

Seven stages of the Condri method, and a final week to make it yours. Everyone walks them in the same order, in the same weeks.

Inside a call

Every session follows the same hour

Same shape every week, so there is less for you to hold in your head. If anything gets cut short, it is the discussion, never the practice.

  3. Recognise8 min
  4. Teach8 min
  5. Practise15 min
  6. Coach9 min

60 minutes in total, every week.

Fifteen minutes of practice sits at the centre of every call. The practice turns the ideas into something you've actually tried.

The method

TURN is the core method

Four questions you ask yourself the moment you notice the urge to check, google, or ask for reassurance. Not arguing yourself out of the fear. Not waiting until you feel calm first. Just four questions, in the same order, every time.

  1. Trigger

What just happened, right before this started?

  2. Urge

What is the urge telling you to do?

  3. Response

What will you not do this time?

  4. Nourish

    What will you do instead?

What people say about the Condri app

The Programme runs on the same approach as the app. These are real reviews, quoted as written.

“It explains really well how my previous patterns of symptom-checking were just making things worse. The app takes me step-by-step through a more helpful process that increases my tolerance of the anxious thoughts and gives me some distance from them. The voice guidance is really calming, too, and it makes me feel like I'm not alone.”
Google Play member
“A game changer for health anxiety sufferers. No more useless apps, books, and tests that all promise to help but end up being fluff that just want your money. This app uses science-backed techniques to help sufferers like me reprogram their negative thought processes, slowly but surely.”
Google Play member
“I have extremely bad health anxiety and health OCD. This app is so helpful! I recommend it to anyone who is struggling.”

Questions people ask before starting

Is this therapy?

No. This is group coaching, not therapy or medical treatment. It is led by a qualified psychologist and built on the same CBT and ERP principles used in clinical therapy, but it is not a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a replacement for one-to-one therapy or medical care. If you are already in therapy, this can run alongside it. If what you need is individual clinical treatment, we will tell you that rather than let you enrol anyway.

Why group coaching, and not one-to-one?

One-to-one therapy is often the right call, but it is not always something you can get, and it is not the only thing that helps. A group gives you something reading about this privately can't: other people describing the same checking, the same doubt, the same 2am googling, in real time. The weekly structure adds the part that usually goes missing on your own, which is actually practising, every week, whether or not you feel like it.

Who runs it?

Karolina Maria Martin. She is Consultant Psychologist at Condri, and she is registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist in the Counselling Psychologist category, registration number PYL32778, which you can check on the public register. She is also a Group Analyst and a Systemic Psychotherapist, with 28 years across the NHS and private practice. She designed the Programme, leads some of the groups herself and supervises the rest of our coaches.

Is it evidence-based?

It is built on CBT and ERP, the two approaches with the strongest evidence base for health anxiety and the ones used in specialist clinics. Nothing here is a shortcut around them. It is a structured way to do the work live, with other people, instead of alone.

What actually are CBT and ERP?

CBT, or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, helps you spot the black-and-white thinking that turns a sensation into a certainty. ERP, or Exposure and Response Prevention, is the practice of sitting with the urge to check or ask for reassurance without acting on it, until the urge loses its grip. TURN is how both of them show up inside each session.

What if I'm actually ill, and this isn't just anxiety?

This programme doesn't ask you to ignore your body or skip medical care. It is for the situation after something has been checked and the fear hasn't gone away regardless of the result. By then it is health anxiety running your life, not the symptom you started with.

Surely I just need a doctor to tell me I'm okay?

Reassurance does work, for a while. Then it wears off and the checking starts again. That fade is the pattern this programme is built to interrupt rather than repeat. The aim is not to convince you that you are fine. It is to need to ask less.

Will it work on me?

We aren't going to promise you a result, and anyone who does is selling you reassurance. What we can tell you is what the process asks of you: follow it, one session and one action a week. Most people who start have already tried reassurance, tests, and googling. This is built to do something different from all three.

How long before I notice a difference?

Everyone is different, so we won't promise you a particular result by a particular week. What is fixed is the process. Each week you learn something, practise it live, and leave with one thing to work on. The goal is not instant calm. It is gradually changing what you do when health anxiety shows up.

What if I can't make a session?

Sessions are live, and showing up is most of what makes a group work. If you miss one, you won't be dropped from the group, and the next week still has a place for you. Be clear about the trade though: sessions aren't recorded, so there is no replay, and we don't run catch-up or one-to-one replacements. A missed week is a missed week, and it doesn't change the fee.

Never more than 20

Eight weeks, one hour at a time.

You don't need to be convinced. You don't need to know whether you will be any good at this. You don't need to stop being afraid before you begin. You need to be ready to try responding differently.

I built this because I needed it and couldn't find it. If that's you too, I'd like you in the room.Joe Newton

8 weeks · Live group coaching · never more than 20 in a group

The Condri Group Coaching Programme is a group coaching programme, not therapy or medical treatment, and it is not intended for crisis support. If you need urgent help, please contact your GP, local emergency services, or a crisis line.

Before your group starts we'll email you a few questions about what you're dealing with, so we can plan the sessions. If your answers show group coaching isn't the right fit, we refund you in full rather than enrol you.

Sessions are live on Zoom and aren't recorded. The person leading them keeps written notes in order to run the programme. Other people in the group hear what you share, and they aren't bound by professional confidentiality.

While you're waiting for a group, your money is returnable on request, for any reason, however long the wait. Once your group has started you can still cancel in full, any time before the second session is due. After that the fee is not refundable, and your place stays yours for the rest of the sessions. In the UK and EU you have a separate 14-day right to cancel from the date of purchase, and where sessions have already run we may deduct a proportionate amount for them.

The Condri Guarantee is an app subscription programme and doesn't apply here.

By buying a place you agree to our terms, including the coaching terms in section 2A, the refund policy, and the privacy policy.
