Karolina Maria Martin

Consultant Psychologist – Anxiety & Wellbeing

HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist | Group Analyst, Institute of Group Analysis | Graduate Member, British Psychological Society

Karolina Maria Martin is a Consultant Psychologist, Systemic Psychotherapist and Group Analyst. She has worked in mental health for 28 years, across six NHS trusts and in private practice. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist in the Counselling Psychologist category, registration number PYL32778.

Karolina first worked with health anxiety in 2002 at an oncology centre in Poland. Her patients had cancer, but many were also struggling with severe anxiety about their health on top of their illness. Her role was to help them manage that anxiety and the effect it was having on their lives and treatment.

Much of her career since then has focused on group work. She qualified as a Group Analyst with the Institute of Group Analysis in London, trained at East London NHS Foundation Trust, and now practises as a Group Analyst at Tavistock Relationships alongside her own consultancy. Her four-year training in group analysis and extensive experience working with groups are a big part of why we asked her to develop Condri's group coaching programme.

We first approached Karolina in December 2025 to independently review Condri. We wanted a psychologist with relevant experience to look closely at the app's structure, language and exercises, and make sure they were consistent with established approaches to health anxiety without overpromising or straying into the role of professional care.

That relationship grew from there, and Karolina joined Condri as Consultant Psychologist. She continues to review our work and helps ensure the app remains grounded in principles from CBT, ERP, ACT and mindfulness.

Karolina designed the Condri Group Coaching Programme. She leads some of the groups herself and supervises the rest of our coaches. The programme runs for eight weeks, with one hour-long session each week in a group of 10 to 20 people. She also leads live community sessions in the app, including guided relaxation and mindfulness practice.

She is the co-author of A Dialogue Between Two Hearts: for Parents of Moody Teenagers (Two Hearts Publishing, 2024), written with her daughter Mijka. The book explores mental health, social media and communication between parents and teenagers.

From Karolina's first review of Condri

“One of the most thoughtfully designed digital tools I have seen for addressing health anxiety. Condri translates evidence-based psychological principles into a format that is accessible, structured, and genuinely therapeutic.”
